Oliceft-S

Oliceft-S is a branded generic antibiotic combination developed and marketed by Makshi Healthcare, primarily for the Indian pharmaceutical market. It consists of ceftriaxone, a third-generation cephalosporin, and sulbactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Ceftriaxone provides broad-spectrum bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through covalent binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). Sulbactam acts as a suicide inhibitor of beta-lactamase enzymes, which protects ceftriaxone from enzymatic degradation and extends its efficacy against resistant bacterial strains. The product is formulated as a vial for injection and is indicated for the treatment of serious infections, including bacterial meningitis, multidrug-resistant (MDR) typhoid fever, acute otitis media, and post-operative infections.
