oliceridine

Oliceridine is a small molecule opioid analgesic indicated for the management of moderate to severe acute pain in adults when an intravenous opioid is warranted. It acts as a biased agonist at the μ-opioid receptor (MOR), preferentially activating G protein signaling pathways while minimizing recruitment of β-arrestin, which is associated with many opioid-related adverse effects such as respiratory depression and constipation. This mechanism was designed to provide effective analgesia with potentially fewer side effects compared to conventional opioids. Oliceridine was developed by Trevena and is marketed under the brand name Olinvyk for short-term use in hospitals or controlled clinical settings[3][5][6][8].
