Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OliClinomel is a ready-to-use, three-chamber parenteral nutrition (PN) emulsion designed for intravenous administration in adults and children over 2 years of age who cannot receive adequate nutrition orally or enterally. Each chamber contains a different component—an amino acid solution, a glucose solution with calcium, and an olive oil-based lipid emulsion (ClinOleic), which is composed of approximately 80% refined olive oil and 20% refined soya oil. The formulation provides essential amino acids for protein synthesis, glucose as an energy source, and lipids to supply essential fatty acids while aiming to reduce proinflammatory effects compared to pure soybean oil emulsions. OliClinomel supports nitrogen/energy balance, protein synthesis, immune function preservation, wound healing, and overall cellular activity in patients requiring PN[1][3][7]. It is manufactured by Baxter.
