Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Olife-M is a synbiotic (prebiotic and probiotic) combination formulation developed and marketed by Celsius Healthcare. It is designed to restore and maintain a healthy balance of intestinal flora, which can be disrupted by factors such as antibiotic use, infection, or poor diet. The product typically contains a blend of multiple probiotic strains, including *Lactobacillus acidophilus*, *Lactobacillus rhamnosus*, and *Bifidobacterium longum*, along with the probiotic yeast *Saccharomyces boulardii*. These are combined with the prebiotic fiber fructooligosaccharides (FOS) and elemental zinc. Olife-M is primarily indicated for the management of gastrointestinal disorders, including antibiotic-associated diarrhea, infectious diarrhea, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The probiotics work by competing with pathogenic bacteria for nutrients and adhesion sites, while the prebiotic FOS serves as a substrate to promote the growth of beneficial microbes, and zinc supports immune function and intestinal barrier integrity.
