Olimel N9

Olimel N9 is a triple-chamber bag parenteral nutrition (PN) formulation developed by Baxter. It consists of an olive oil-based lipid emulsion (ClinOleic), amino acids, and glucose. The formulation is specifically designed for patients with moderate metabolic stress who have high protein and moderate energy requirements. It is indicated for adults and children over two years of age when oral or enteral nutrition is impossible, insufficient, or contraindicated. Due to its high osmolarity (approximately 1420 mOsm/L), Olimel N9 must be administered through a central vein. It is available in versions with and without electrolytes, the latter of which is often utilized as intradialytic parenteral nutrition (IDPN) to provide protein, fatty acids, and calories to malnourished hemodialysis patients.
