OliPass NOX4 PNA is an antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) being developed by OliPass for the treatment of fibrosis. The therapeutic utilizes OliPass's proprietary Peptide Nucleic Acid (PNA) platform, which incorporates modified chemical structures to enhance cellular uptake and binding affinity to target RNA. The drug operates through an exon-skipping mechanism to downregulate the expression of NADPH oxidase 4 (NOX4). NOX4 is a key enzyme responsible for generating reactive oxygen species (ROS), which drive myofibroblast activation and extracellular matrix deposition in various fibrotic conditions. The program is currently in the research and preclinical development stage.
