Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OliPass-VEGF is an antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) therapeutic candidate being developed by OliPass for the treatment of retinal vascular diseases, including Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and Diabetic Retinopathy (DR). Utilizing OliPass's proprietary Peptide Nucleic Acid (PNA) platform, the drug is designed to be administered as a topical eye drop, offering a potentially less invasive alternative to standard-of-care intravitreal injections. The therapeutic mechanism involves exon skipping of the Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) pre-mRNA, which selectively inhibits the expression of pro-angiogenic VEGF isoforms, thereby reducing pathological neovascularization and vascular leakage in the eye.
