olodaterol + mometasone furoate

Olodaterol + mometasone furoate is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapy developed by Boehringer Ingelheim for the treatment of asthma. It combines olodaterol, a highly selective long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA), with mometasone furoate, a potent inhaled corticosteroid (ICS). Olodaterol provides sustained bronchodilation by stimulating beta2-adrenoceptors in the airway smooth muscle, leading to increased intracellular cAMP and muscle relaxation. Mometasone furoate exerts anti-inflammatory effects by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor, thereby reducing airway inflammation and hyperresponsiveness. This combination was evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials (such as NCT01911130) to assess the efficacy and safety of the FDC compared to the individual components administered together as a free combination. However, development of this specific combination by Boehringer Ingelheim appears to have been discontinued, as it is no longer listed in their active pipeline.
