Olomoucine II is a synthetic small molecule belonging to the class of 6-alkylaminopurines. It is a potent, reversible, and ATP-competitive inhibitor of several cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs), including CDK1/cyclin B, CDK2/cyclin E, CDK4/cyclin D1, CDK7/cyclin H, and CDK9/cyclin T. Olomoucine II demonstrates significantly higher inhibitory activity against these kinases compared to earlier compounds such as roscovitine and purvalanol A. In vitro studies show that it exhibits strong cytotoxicity in various cancer cell lines with low micromolar IC50 values. The compound has not been approved for clinical use and remains an experimental tool in cell cycle research and oncology[1][3][4][10].
