OLP-210

OLP-210 is an investigational oral peptide Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist developed by Shenzhen Orli Biopharmaceutical Technology (Orli Biopharma) for the treatment of obesity and overweight. The drug utilizes Orli's proprietary oral delivery platform, which is designed to overcome the low bioavailability typically associated with oral administration of large peptide molecules. By activating the GLP-1 receptor, OLP-210 mimics the action of endogenous GLP-1 to stimulate insulin secretion, inhibit glucagon release, delay gastric emptying, and increase satiety, ultimately leading to weight reduction. In October 2023, OLP-210 received clinical trial approval (IND) from China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for weight management indications, positioning it as a potential oral alternative to injectable GLP-1 therapies.
