Overview

Olvimulogene nanivacirepvec (Olvi-Vec) is a proprietary, genetically modified strain of the oncolytic vaccinia virus developed by Genelux Corporation. It is designed to selectively infect and replicate within malignant cells, leading to direct tumor cell lysis (oncolysis) and the induction of immunogenic cell death. This process triggers a systemic anti-tumor immune response and remodels the tumor microenvironment. A key clinical feature of Olvi-Vec is its ability to resensitize tumors to platinum-based chemotherapy, particularly in patients with platinum-resistant or refractory disease. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 3 registrational trial for platinum-resistant/refractory ovarian cancer and in Phase 2 trials for non-small cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer.
