Overview

GL-ONC1 (olvimulogene nanivacirepvec) is a genetically engineered oncolytic vaccinia virus (Lister strain) developed by Genelux Corporation. It is designed to selectively replicate within and lyse tumor cells while stimulating a systemic anti-tumor immune response. In combination with chemotherapy, such as platinum-based agents (cisplatin, carboplatin), GL-ONC1 aims to enhance therapeutic efficacy through synergistic cell killing and improved viral distribution. This combination has been primarily investigated for the treatment of platinum-resistant or refractory ovarian cancer, as well as other advanced solid tumors like head and neck cancer and malignant pleural effusion.
