Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ombipepimut-s + pembrolizumab is a combination of two immunotherapeutic agents designed for cancer treatment. Ombipepimut-s is a therapeutic cancer vaccine targeting survivin, a protein highly expressed in many cancers, inducing anti-tumor immune responses by stimulating T-cells against survivin-expressing tumor cells. Pembrolizumab is a humanized monoclonal IgG4 antibody that blocks the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor on lymphocytes, preventing its interaction with PD-L1 and PD-L2 and thus releasing the PD-1 pathway's inhibition of T-cell–mediated anti-tumor activity. This combination leverages pembrolizumab’s checkpoint inhibitor effect with ombipepimut-s’s tumor antigen–targeted vaccination approach to potentially enhance antitumor immune responses. Primary indications under investigation focus on advanced solid tumors, notably triple-negative breast cancer and other survivin-expressing cancers[1][3][5].
