Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Omectatug (ASKB589) is a humanized recombinant IgG1 monoclonal antibody targeting claudin 18.2 (CLDN18.2), a tight junction protein frequently overexpressed in gastric, gastroesophageal junction (G/GEJ), and pancreatic cancers. Developed by AskGene Pharma and Jiangsu Aosaikang Pharmaceutical, omectatug binds with high affinity to CLDN18.2-expressing tumor cells, mediating potent anti-tumor activity through antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) and complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC). The drug is currently in Phase III clinical development in China, evaluated in combination with chemotherapy (CAPOX) and PD-1 inhibitors (such as tislelizumab) as a first-line treatment for patients with CLDN18.2-positive advanced or metastatic gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma.
