Overview
ASKB589 + capecitabine + oxaliplatin is an investigational combination regimen consisting of omectatug (ASKB589), capecitabine, and oxaliplatin. Omectatug is a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody targeting Claudin 18.2 (CLDN18.2) with enhanced antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC) activities. Capecitabine is an oral fluoropyrimidine chemotherapy prodrug that is metabolized to 5-fluorouracil, which inhibits thymidylate synthase. Oxaliplatin is an intravenous platinum-based chemotherapy agent that forms DNA crosslinks to disrupt replication and transcription. Together, capecitabine and oxaliplatin form the standard CAPOX chemotherapy backbone. The combination is developed by AskGene (a subsidiary of Aosaikang) and is being evaluated in clinical trials, including Phase 3 trials in combination with PD-1 inhibitors, for the first-line treatment of patients with CLDN18.2-positive advanced or metastatic gastric and gastroesophageal junction (G/GEJ) adenocarcinoma.
