Omega-3 acid ethyl esters is a small molecule lipid-regulating agent being investigated by ImmunityBio as a supportive component of the NANT Ovarian Cancer Vaccine combination immunotherapy. In the Phase 1b/2 QUILT-3.051 study, it is administered as part of a complex metronomic regimen alongside chemotherapy (e.g., paclitaxel, cyclophosphamide), monoclonal antibodies (avelumab, bevacizumab), and novel immunotherapies (ALT-803, haNK cells, and various viral/yeast-based vaccines). The ethyl esters of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are intended to modulate the tumor microenvironment and provide nutritional support in patients with epithelial ovarian cancer who have progressed after standard-of-care therapy.
