Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Omecord-MIC is a pharmaceutical-grade lipid-regulating agent developed by Minskintercaps. It consists of omega-3-acid ethyl esters, specifically a concentrated combination of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) ethyl esters. The drug is indicated as an adjunct to diet for the reduction of very high triglyceride levels in adults and for secondary prevention following myocardial infarction. Its mechanism of action involves the reduction of hepatic triglyceride synthesis by inhibiting enzymes such as diacylglycerol acyltransferase and increasing the beta-oxidation of fatty acids in the liver.
