**Omega-3 carboxylic acids + rosuvastatin** is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product containing omega-3 carboxylic acids (polyunsaturated fatty acids predominantly eicosapentaenoic acid [EPA] and docosahexaenoic acid [DHA]) and rosuvastatin (a synthetic HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor). Rosuvastatin acts by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase to reduce LDL-C and total cholesterol, while omega-3 carboxylic acids reduce triglycerides primarily through inhibition of hepatic VLDL synthesis and possibly via activation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ), which increases adiponectin levels and improves insulin sensitivity. The combination is indicated for treatment of mixed dyslipidemia, particularly in adults whose triglycerides are not adequately controlled with rosuvastatin monotherapy[2][3].
