Overview
Mini rTG omega-3 fish oil is a concentrated dietary supplement containing omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), specifically eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), in the re-esterified triglyceride (rTG) form. The rTG form is produced by converting fish oil ethyl esters back into triglycerides, a process intended to enhance bioavailability and stability compared to standard ethyl ester or triglyceride forms. The "mini" designation refers to the use of smaller softgel capsules designed for easier swallowing. In clinical research, such as the Phase 2 CLARA trial (NCT05043233) led by the Medical College of Wisconsin, this formulation is being investigated for its ability to modulate the cancer lipidome and pathological response in patients with early-stage breast cancer receiving neoadjuvant therapy.
