Omega-Formula

Omega-Formula is a nutraceutical dietary supplement developed by Guna S.p.a. for the management of borderline dyslipidemia and the maintenance of healthy cholesterol levels. The formulation's primary active ingredient is Monacolin K, a naturally occurring compound in red yeast rice (Monascus purpureus) that is chemically identical to lovastatin and functions as a competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in hepatic cholesterol synthesis. Additionally, the supplement contains micronized seeds of the Baobab tree (Adansonia digitata), which provide dietary fiber and antioxidant polyphenols, and a synergistic blend of B vitamins (B6, B12, and folic acid) that facilitate the metabolism of homocysteine.
