Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OmegaBrite is a high-potency omega-3 fatty acid supplement featuring a concentrated 7:1 ratio of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) to docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). It has been extensively studied in clinical trials sponsored by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) as an adjunctive treatment for bipolar disorder, including bipolar depression and rapid-cycling subtypes. The supplement is thought to exert its therapeutic effects by modulating neuronal signal transduction pathways and reducing neuroinflammation, mechanisms that may complement traditional mood stabilizers. As a small molecule nutraceutical, it is administered orally in capsule form.
