Omidac-D

Omidac-D is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product marketed by SBM Enterprises, an Indian pharmaceutical company. It contains omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), and domperidone, a prokinetic agent and dopamine D2 receptor antagonist. Omeprazole reduces gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells. Domperidone increases gastrointestinal motility and lower esophageal sphincter pressure by blocking peripheral dopamine receptors, which helps in relieving symptoms of nausea and vomiting often associated with acid-related disorders. The combination is primarily indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), functional dyspepsia, and peptic ulcers where a prokinetic effect is beneficial.
