Omija berry extract, derived from the fruit of *Schisandra chinensis*, is a botanical extract widely used in traditional Asian medicine and modern nutraceuticals. It is characterized by its high content of dibenzocyclooctadiene lignans, such as schisandrin A, B, and C, which are responsible for its adaptogenic, hepatoprotective, and ergogenic properties. The extract is primarily developed for improving physical performance, reducing fatigue, and supporting liver function. In South Korea, specific standardized versions like HL-JO01 have been recognized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) for their ability to improve muscle strength and function in aging populations. Its mechanism involves the modulation of oxidative stress pathways through Nrf2 activation and the inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokines via the NF-κB pathway.
