Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Omios OV is a next-generation, biomarker-guided oncolytic virus platform developed by Omios Biologics for the treatment of solid tumors. The platform utilizes an engineered vaccinia virus designed for systemic intravenous delivery, allowing it to reach both primary tumors and distant metastases by using tumor blood vessels as entry points. The virus is specifically modified through the deletion of the D10 and E3L viral genes to enhance cancer selectivity, enabling it to target and replicate within cancer cells that harbor mutations in cell death programs while sparing healthy tissues. Currently in development for hard-to-treat indications such as breast, lung, gastrointestinal, and pancreatic cancers, Omios OV represents a novel approach in oncolytic immunotherapy and is being evaluated in collaboration with City of Hope.
