Overview

OMN-51 is a synthetic antimicrobial peptide (AMP) developed by Omnix Medical. It is designed to target Gram-negative bacteria, particularly Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which are responsible for recurrent and persistent infections in patients with Cystic Fibrosis (CF), Non–Cystic Fibrosis Bronchiectasis (NCFB), and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Preclinical studies have demonstrated that OMN-51 exhibits potent bactericidal activity against susceptible, resistant, and multidrug-resistant strains of P. aeruginosa with no observed resistance or cross-resistance. The drug is currently in preclinical development[1][2][3][6].
