OMN-6 is a novel, first-in-class antimicrobial peptide (AMP) developed by Omnix Medical for the treatment of life-threatening infections caused by multi-drug resistant Gram-negative bacteria, including *Acinetobacter baumannii* complex. The drug is based on insect host defense peptides and has been optimized using proprietary technology to enhance efficacy, potency, safety, and stability while maintaining bioactivity. Its mechanism of action involves rapid bactericidal activity through physical disruption of bacterial cell membranes—a mode that is effective regardless of bacterial genotype or resistance phenotype and avoids common mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance. OMN-6 has demonstrated potent *in vitro* and *in vivo* activity against both susceptible and drug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria with no observable cross-resistance or toxicity toward mammalian cells. It is currently being evaluated in Phase II clinical trials for hospital-acquired bacterial pneumonia (HABP) and ventilator-associated bacterial pneumonia (VABP)[1][2][3][4][5][8].
