Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Omni-Biotic Hetox is a multi-strain probiotic dietary supplement developed by the Austrian company Institut Allergosan. It is formulated with 8 to 9 specifically selected bacterial strains from the *Lactobacillus*, *Bifidobacterium*, and *Lactococcus* genera, providing 15 billion CFU per dose. The product is designed to support liver function and detoxification via the gut-liver axis. Its mechanism involves strengthening the intestinal barrier to reduce the translocation of pro-inflammatory endotoxins into the portal circulation, thereby alleviating the toxic load on the liver. Clinical studies have investigated its efficacy in patients with type 2 diabetes and liver cirrhosis, demonstrating improvements in liver enzymes, glucose metabolism, cholesterol levels, and systemic cardiometabolic parameters.
