Overview

Omnigen is a vacuum-dehydrated human amniotic membrane (dAM) biological graft derived from human sources and certified by the UK Human Tissue Authority. Developed by NuVision Biotherapies using the proprietary Tereo processing technology, the membrane is manufactured from donated human amniotic tissue collected during elective cesarean sections. This process preserves the structural integrity and biochemical composition of the membrane—including various growth factors and anti-inflammatory cytokines—while allowing for room-temperature storage and easy clinical handling. Omnigen acts as a biological scaffold that promotes epithelialization, reduces inflammation and fibrosis, and provides anti-angiogenic and anti-bacterial effects. It is primarily indicated for ophthalmic conditions such as dry eye disease (DED), persistent corneal epithelial defects (PED), acute chemical eye injuries, and pterygium. In the clinic, it is often applied suturelessly using the specialized OmniLenz bandage contact lens. It is also utilized in the management of chronic wounds, such as diabetic foot ulcers (DFU), and in veterinary medicine for corneal ulceration in companion animals.
