Overview

OmniMSC-AMI is an allogenic bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cell therapy developed by Taiwan Bio Therapeutics. It is designed for the treatment of acute myocardial infarction (specifically ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction, STEMI). The therapy involves intracoronary administration of human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hBMMSCs) immediately after primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Preclinical studies in porcine models demonstrated that early administration reduced infarct size and preserved left ventricular function. The mechanism of action is primarily cell replacement, aiming to repair damaged cardiac tissue and improve cardiac function following myocardial injury. Clinical development has reached phase I trials in Taiwan[1][2][3][5].
