OMS201

OMS201 is an irrigation solution developed by Omeros Corporation for use during ureteroscopic procedures to remove urinary tract stones (urolithiasis). It is a proprietary combination of ketoprofen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and nifedipine, a calcium channel blocker. The solution is intended to be added to standard irrigation fluid during surgery to provide localized pharmacological effects. Ketoprofen inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins to manage pain and inflammation. Nifedipine acts as a smooth muscle relaxant by blocking L-type calcium channels, which helps prevent ureteral spasms and facilitates the passage or removal of stones.
