OMS824

OMS824 is a proprietary small-molecule inhibitor of phosphodiesterase 10 (PDE10) developed by Omeros Corporation. PDE10 is an enzyme highly expressed in the striatum, a brain region critical for the regulation of cognition, psychomotor functions, and psychiatric stability. By selectively inhibiting PDE10, OMS824 increases the intracellular concentrations of the second messengers cAMP and cGMP, which are often depleted or dysregulated in neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders. The compound has been investigated in Phase 2 clinical programs for the treatment of Huntington's disease and schizophrenia, aiming to improve motor, cognitive, and psychiatric symptoms. The US FDA has granted OMS824 both Orphan Drug and Fast Track designations for the treatment of Huntington's disease.
