Overview

OMT-116 is a preclinical-stage small molecule developed by OMEICOS Ophthalmics, a subsidiary of OMEICOS Therapeutics, for the treatment of ophthalmic conditions including geographic atrophy (GA) and glaucoma. The drug is a synthetic analog of 17,18-epoxyeicosatetraenoic acid (17,18-EEQ), a natural metabolite of omega-3 fatty acids produced by cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes. OMT-116 is designed to activate endogenous protective and anti-inflammatory pathways, mimicking the biological activity of 17,18-EEQ to stabilize cellular functions, reduce neuroinflammation, and prevent retinal cell death and neurodegeneration.
