ONA-389

ONA-389 is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) being developed by ONA Therapeutics for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, with a specific focus on microsatellite stable (MSS) colorectal cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma. The drug targets CD36 (also known as fatty acid translocase), a scavenger receptor and metabolic regulator of fatty acid transport that is highly implicated in cancer metastasis and the development of drug resistance. ONA-389 is engineered with a cytotoxic payload designed to have minimal susceptibility to efflux by resistance proteins, aiming to bypass the cellular pumps that often render traditional chemotherapies ineffective. As of late 2024, ONA-389 is in preclinical development, with IND-enabling studies projected to begin in the second half of 2025.
