Overview

The OncBioMune breast cancer vaccine is an autologous whole-cell cancer vaccine developed by OncBioMune Pharmaceuticals, based on technology pioneered by Dr. Robert L. Elliott. This personalized immunotherapy is created from a patient's own tumor tissue, which is processed into lethally irradiated or formalin-fixed cancer cells. The vaccine is designed to present a multivalent array of the patient's unique tumor-associated antigens (TAAs) to their immune system. By administering these patient-specific antigens intradermally, often in combination with biological adjuvants such as granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) and interleukin-2 (IL-2), the vaccine aims to stimulate a targeted T-cell-mediated immune response. This response is intended to eliminate residual cancer cells and prevent disease recurrence in breast cancer patients. While the technology was first patented for breast cancer and demonstrated safety in over 300 patients, the company's focus later shifted toward developing a similar product for prostate cancer, known as ProscaVax.
