Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Oncobax AM (also known as Oncobax AK) is an orally administered live biotherapeutic product (LBP) developed by EverImmune. It consists of a proprietary, lyophilized, and encapsulated single bacterial strain of *Akkermansia* (specifically *Akkermansia muciniphila* or *Akkermansia massiliensis* strain P2261). Oncobax AM is designed to act as an immunogenic commensal bacterium that restores or enhances patient responsiveness to immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), such as PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors, in patients with advanced solid tumors who are deficient in *Akkermansia*. It is currently being evaluated in Phase I/II clinical trials for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and renal cell carcinoma (RCC).
