Oncobax BF is an oral live biotherapeutic product (LBP) consisting of a specific strain of the commensal bacterium *Bacteroides fragilis*. Developed by the French biotechnology company EverImmune, it is part of a pipeline of microbiome-based therapies designed to restore or enhance the efficacy of cancer immunotherapies, such as immune checkpoint inhibitors (e.g., anti-PD-1/PD-L1). The therapeutic rationale is based on the "gut-tumor axis," where specific gut bacteria prime the host's immune system to better recognize and attack malignant cells.
