OncoSil + FOLFIRINOX is a combination treatment for locally advanced pancreatic cancer (LAPC). OncoSil is a brachytherapy device consisting of phosphorus-32 (P-32) microparticles that are implanted directly into the pancreatic tumor via endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) guidance. Once implanted, the microparticles deliver localized beta radiation (typically 100 Gy) to the tumor over several weeks. FOLFIRINOX is a systemic chemotherapy regimen comprising folinic acid (leucovorin), 5-fluorouracil, irinotecan, and oxaliplatin. The combination aims to provide local tumor control through targeted radiation while managing systemic disease with chemotherapy, potentially downstaging unresectable tumors for surgical resection. The treatment is being evaluated in clinical trials such as the TRIPP-FFX study.
