Overview

Oncoxin-Viusid + docetaxel is a combination therapy consisting of **Oncoxin-Viusid**, a nutritional supplement with antioxidant, immunomodulatory, and anti-tumor properties, and **docetaxel**, a cytotoxic chemotherapeutic agent. Oncoxin-Viusid contains active ingredients such as epigallocatechin gallate (from green tea extract), glycine, glucosamine, arginine, cystine, malic acid, monoammonium glycyrrhizinate, ascorbic acid, zinc sulfate, pyridoxine, folic acid, and cyanocobalamin. Mechanistically, Oncoxin-Viusid acts via antioxidant and anti-proliferative mechanisms, modulation of apoptosis pathways (restoring cellular apoptosis by inducing p53, caspase-3, and BAX expression, while inhibiting anti-apoptotic Bcl-2), inhibition of tumor-promoting enzymes, and immunomodulation (stimulating interferon and IL-12 production, macrophage activation, T-helper cell stimulation). Docetaxel is a classic microtubule inhibitor that promotes apoptosis in cancer cells. The combination is primarily investigated as an adjunct therapy to improve the efficacy and tolerability of docetaxel-based chemotherapy, especially in prostate cancer and other solid tumors, where Oncoxin-Viusid is studied as an adjuvant to reduce toxicity and potentially enhance anti-tumor effects.
