Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ONO-2020 is an orally active small molecule inhibitor of lysine-specific demethylase 1 (LSD1), an epigenetic regulator, developed by Ono Pharmaceutical. It is currently in Phase 2 clinical trials for the treatment of mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease (AD) and agitation associated with AD dementia. By inhibiting LSD1, ONO-2020 aims to modulate gene expression patterns to improve cognitive functions, such as memory and cognition, and to manage behavioral symptoms like agitation in patients with dementia. The drug's development program includes studies in both healthy participants and patients with AD to evaluate its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and efficacy.
