ONO-2910

ONO-2910 is an orally administered small molecule drug developed by Ono Pharmaceutical. It acts as a Schwann cell differentiation promoter, enhancing the differentiation and myelination of Schwann cells in peripheral nerves. This mechanism is expected to protect and promote regeneration of peripheral nerve cells, potentially improving symptoms associated with peripheral neuropathy such as numbness, pain, hypersensitivity, and paresthesia. Unlike symptomatic treatments for neuropathy (e.g., duloxetine or pregabalin), ONO-2910 aims to repair nerve damage itself and may offer a radical treatment approach. The drug is currently in Phase 2 clinical trials for diabetic polyneuropathy and chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) in patients with breast cancer receiving paclitaxel[1][2][3][4][5][6].
