ONO-7684

ONO-7684 is a novel, orally administered small molecule anticoagulant that acts as a selective inhibitor of activated factor XI (FXIa). It competitively and reversibly inhibits human FXIa (Ki = 0.002 μmol/L), thereby reducing factor XI coagulation activity and increasing activated partial thromboplastin time without evidence of increased bleeding risk. Developed by Ono Pharmaceutical, ONO-7684 is being investigated primarily for the prevention and treatment of thromboembolic disorders such as thrombosis and venous thromboembolism. Clinical studies have shown it to be well tolerated in healthy subjects with dose-proportional pharmacokinetics supporting once-daily oral dosing[1][2][3][8].
