Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ONO-7746 is an orally available small molecule and thrombopoietin (TPO) receptor agonist developed to stimulate megakaryopoiesis and increase platelet production. By activating the TPO receptor (also known as c-Mpl or MPL), ONO-7746 promotes the proliferation and differentiation of megakaryocyte progenitor cells, leading to increased platelet counts. It is being investigated primarily for the treatment of thrombocytopenia, a condition characterized by abnormally low levels of platelets that increases bleeding risk. The drug was co-developed by Ono Pharmaceutical and Nissan Chemical Industries[1][2][5][7].
