ontuxizumab

Ontuxizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets endosialin, also known as tumor endothelial marker 1 (TEM1 or CD248), a cell-surface glycoprotein involved in tumor stromal cell function, angiogenesis, and tumor growth. By binding to endosialin, ontuxizumab interferes with its function, which may disrupt platelet-derived growth factor signaling, prevent organization of the tumor stroma, and inhibit new blood vessel formation within tumors. Ontuxizumab has been investigated primarily for the treatment of various cancers including soft tissue sarcoma (for which it received orphan drug status), metastatic melanoma, colorectal cancer, lymphoma, and other solid tumors. The drug was developed by Morphotek and Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research[1][3][4][6][7].
