Overview

ONY-P2 is an allogeneic whole-cell therapeutic vaccine developed by Onyvax Limited for the treatment of prostate cancer, specifically for patients with castration-resistant, non-metastatic disease. The vaccine is composed of three irradiated, immortalized human prostate cancer cell lines: ONYCAP23 (normal human prostate epithelial), P4E6 (well-differentiated prostate cancer), and LnCaP (androgen-dependent lymph node metastasis). By presenting a broad array of prostate-specific antigens, the vaccine aims to stimulate a polyvalent immune response, including both T-cell and B-cell activation, to target and eliminate residual cancer cells. It is administered via intradermal injection, with the initial doses typically co-administered with Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) as an adjuvant to enhance the immune response. Clinical development reached Phase IIb, but the program was discontinued following the developer's financial difficulties.
