Onyvax-CR is an allogeneic whole-cell cancer vaccine developed by Onyvax for the treatment of colorectal cancer. The therapeutic approach involves the use of irradiated allogeneic colorectal cancer cell lines to present a broad spectrum of tumor-associated antigens to the patient's immune system. In clinical protocols, this cell-based vaccine was often administered alongside 105AD7, an anti-idiotypic monoclonal antibody that mimics the tumor-associated antigen CD55 (also known as 791Tgp72 or decay-accelerating factor). The formulation utilized adjuvants, specifically alum (aluminum hydroxide) and occasionally BCG, to enhance the immunogenicity of the vaccine components. The program was designed to treat patients with locally advanced or metastatic colorectal cancer by inducing a robust, multi-antigen immune response. However, development of Onyvax-CR appears to have been discontinued.
