Overview

OP-101 is a hemoglobin-based oxygen carrier (HBOC) developed by Bios Biotechnology (Biois) as a medical device for organ preservation and myocardial protection. It is formulated as an ex-vivo perfusion solution designed to deliver oxygen to organs during storage and transport, thereby mitigating ischemic injury and improving organ viability for transplantation. Additionally, it is being investigated for myocardial protection during cardiac arrest. As of the latest reports, OP-101 has completed preclinical animal studies, including biosafety and immunosafety evaluations.
