Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OPA891-1 is a preclinical peptide-drug conjugate (PDC) developed by Serilink Biotechnology for the treatment of solid tumors. The molecule consists of a targeting peptide directed against Sortilin 1 (SORT1) conjugated to a cytotoxic payload using Serilink's proprietary SeriLink™ site-specific conjugation technology. Sortilin 1 is a transmembrane protein that is frequently upregulated in several cancers, including ovarian, breast, and skin cancers, where it plays a role in protein trafficking and ligand internalization. By leveraging the endocytic pathway of SORT1, OPA891-1 aims to deliver potent chemotherapy directly into cancer cells, thereby increasing efficacy and reducing systemic toxicity.
