Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Opalescence Go is a professional-grade, home-use cosmetic tooth whitening system manufactured by Ultradent Products, Inc. The product features a prefilled, disposable UltraFit™ tray delivery system containing a hydrogen peroxide-based whitening gel, available in 10% or 15% concentrations. The mechanism of action involves the oxidation of discolored organic molecules within the tooth enamel and dentin by hydrogen peroxide. To enhance patient comfort and maintain enamel health, the formulation includes potassium nitrate and fluoride (PF), which act as desensitizing agents and strengtheners. It is indicated for the treatment of tooth discoloration resulting from various factors, including aging, trauma, and systemic or pharmacologic causes. A Phase IV clinical trial at Uniklinik Köln has evaluated its impact on oral health-related quality of life.
