OPC-415 is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy being developed for the treatment of relapsed and/or refractory multiple myeloma. The product consists of autologous T cells engineered to express a CAR derived from the MMG49 monoclonal antibody, which specifically recognizes a subset of integrin beta 7 molecules expressed on multiple myeloma cells. By targeting integrin beta 7, these modified T cells are designed to selectively recognize and kill malignant plasma cells in patients with multiple myeloma. The drug is currently in Phase II clinical development and is administered parenterally. It was originally developed through collaboration between Osaka University and Otsuka Pharmaceutical[1][2][3][4][5][7].
