Ophtesis Bio

Ophtesis Bio is a cohesive ophthalmic viscosurgical device (OVD) composed of 3% sodium hyaluronate, developed by Aptissen. It is primarily indicated for use during cataract surgery to maintain the depth of the anterior chamber and protect intraocular tissues, particularly the corneal endothelium, from mechanical trauma during surgical maneuvers. As a cohesive OVD, it maintains its structure under low shear rates, providing excellent space maintenance, and is designed to be easily aspirated from the eye at the conclusion of the procedure to minimize the risk of postoperative intraocular pressure (IOP) spikes. The product is typically supplied as a sterile, non-pyrogenic, clear solution in a pre-filled syringe.
